TRUFFLE X

Truffle X is Toroline’s ultra-soft 1.30mm string built from a highly elastic polymer rather than a conventional polyester formulation. It is designed for players who want pronounced pocketing, comfort and easy depth, either as a full-bed alternative to softer constructions or, more commonly, as a cross in a performance hybrid.

Performance profile

The defining characteristic is elasticity. Truffle X stretches significantly under tension and produces a plush, pocketing response with more rebound than a typical co-poly. In a hybrid, that softer cross can reduce the overall firmness of the stringbed while still giving shaped or slick mains room to work.

Best suited to

• Players prioritising comfort and ball pocketing.
• Hybrid setups that need a very soft, elastic cross.
• Players moving away from a full bed of firm polyester.
• Setups where easy depth matters more than a very low-powered response.

Setup guidance

Toroline recommends treating Truffle X more like natural gut or a multifilament than a conventional poly. A starting range around 50–55 lb with 5–10% pre-stretch is recommended by the brand. Because the material is exceptionally soft, installation should be gentle, particularly when tying off knots.
