Laver Cup 2026 Pro Gear: Casper Ruud & Francisco Cerundolo Rackets, Strings and Shoes

Laver Cup gear is never quite as simple as the paint.
Casper Ruud and Francisco Cerúndolo opened the 2026 Laver Cup in London with a 6–7(4), 6–4, 10–8 win for Ruud. The match was close. Their equipment stories are even more interesting.

Casper Ruud: EZONE paint, custom setup underneath
Yonex currently lists Ruud with the EZONE 100, POLYTOUR SPIN 125 × POLYTOUR PRO 130 and POWER CUSHION ECLIPSION 5. Yonex also states that its professional players may compete with customized racquets that differ from the retail model displayed.
Specialist reporting points to Ruud’s current frame being a custom, extended, DR-generation 98-based setup introduced after his 2025 switch. That makes the current cosmetic only part of the story.

Did Ruud change his cross string?
Yonex still lists Ruud’s hybrid as POLYTOUR SPIN 125 × POLYTOUR PRO 130. What looks different at the Laver Cup is the color of the crosses: they appear beige-grey rather than the yellow setup seen previously.
Yonex now sells POLYTOUR PRO 130 in Warm Gray, and the color is visually close to what appears in these Laver Cup photos. That makes Warm Gray a plausible explanation — but it is not confirmed as Ruud’s current cross string color.
A new Yonex shoe?
Ruud is still officially listed with the Eclipsion 5, but the pair visible at the Laver Cup looks different from the current retail model. As of 28 September 2026, no official Eclipsion 6 announcement was found, so this remains a watch-list detail rather than a confirmed product identification.

Francisco Cerúndolo: Prestige paint, PT57A2 underneath
HEAD confirms Cerúndolo with the Prestige family and an 18×20 string pattern. Specialist tracking identifies his actual frame as the legendary HEAD PT57A2, paired with Kirschbaum Max Power around 23 kg / 50.7 lb.
An older reported build was listed at 27.5 inches, around 350 g strung and roughly 380 swingweight. Those figures should be treated as historical reporting rather than a fresh 2026 measurement.
For shoes, adidas confirmed Cerúndolo among the players wearing the new Barricade 14 for the 2026 season.

Confirmed vs reported vs observed
| Player | Confirmed | Reported / observed |
|---|---|---|
| Casper Ruud | EZONE 100 association; POLYTOUR SPIN 125 × POLYTOUR PRO 130; Eclipsion 5 | Extended DR-generation 98-based custom frame; possible Warm Gray crosses; new-looking Yonex shoe |
| Francisco Cerúndolo | Prestige family; 18×20; adidas Barricade 14 | PT57A2; Kirschbaum Max Power around 23 kg; older 27.5 in / ~350 g / ~380 SW build |
Which setup would you take?
Ruud’s modern Yonex cosmetic hides a reported extended DR-based setup, while Cerúndolo continues the PT57A lineage under Prestige paint. Two very different solutions for two very different games.
For one set, which setup are you choosing — Ruud or Cerúndolo?
