Solinco Confidential Soft — Controlled Aggression, Now More Playable
Tennis Rackets EuropeShare
Solinco didn’t reinvent Confidential. They refined it.
The new Solinco Confidential Soft Pink keeps the DNA of the original Confidential — control, spin and stability — but removes the one thing some players struggled with: excessive firmness.
For us, this is easily one of the best strings Solinco has produced in recent years, alongside Solinco Mach-10 and the prototype strings Unreleased Confidential 3.0 and Solinco Unreleased 4.0 that we have tested and currently stock.
What Actually Changed?
This is not a beginner-friendly trampoline poly.
It is still a performance string.
But the Soft version introduces:
- Noticeably improved pocketing
- Cleaner, more elastic snapback
- Better dwell time on heavy contact
- Reduced harsh vibration compared to the original Confidential
The result?
You get the same directional control and predictable launch angle, but with a more forgiving response.
Spin & Snapback
This is where Confidential Soft gets interesting.
The original Confidential already had strong rotational behavior, but the Soft version feels slightly more elastic on impact. That elasticity improves snapback consistency over longer sessions.
Heavy topspin hitters will appreciate:
- Reliable ball bite
- Stable trajectory under pace
- Controlled aggression without over-launch
It does not feel muted.
It feels refined.
Comfort Without Losing Stability
Many soft polys lose structural integrity.
This one does not.
Confidential Soft still holds tension well, maintains frame stability on off-center hits, and does not feel unstable under pressure. It simply removes the boardy sensation some players experienced with the original.
You get:
- More comfort
- Slightly better feel
- Same competitive-level control
Who Is It For?
- Players who liked Confidential but wanted more comfort
- Baseliners generating heavy spin
- Competitive players seeking control-first setups
- Players who want poly performance without excessive stiffness
It is not a trampoline string.
It is a controlled weapon.
How It Fits Inside the Solinco Line
If regular Solinco Confidential is your reference point for firm control, Confidential Soft is the easier long-session version.
If you want more spin and power, Solinco Mach-10 is the more explosive option. If you enjoy rare test strings and prototype feel, the Unreleased Confidential 3.0 and Unreleased 4.0 options are the more experimental route.
That gives Confidential Soft a clear place: control-first, more playable, still serious.
Our Take
This is not marketing hype. It is a genuinely well-balanced evolution.
For us, Confidential Soft stands among Solinco’s strongest recent releases. It keeps the identity of Confidential, but makes it more playable over longer sessions.
That is a win.
